New Day

I am finding it hard to believe that we have already seen two full months of 2012. My days are starting to blend together even with all the travel.  ; P

I received some awful news on the 1st of this month and find myself needing to partake in some 'real' travel. I will be heading back to the Northeast this week for a funeral. The older I become the more surreal death is. This morning I reminded myself of the First Law of Thermodynamics - energy can be neither created nor destroyed (Yes, I am a nerd). That actually made me feel better.

I also felt better by reading.  So, until I see you...keep reading!

Shame on me for being away so long. As usual I have been reading, reading, reading! Some of my latest reads have been less than spectacular, so I have been saving up to post.

On one of my favorite sites - Goodreads- I have been challenged to read 110 books for 2012. So far, I have read 74 books this year. I will admit that at least 3-4 have been re-reads of books I enjoy.

Now of those 74 books, some are not really worth mentioning here. Quite a few have been novellas so of course they were simple reads. A few have been between 400 - 650 pages. I try to keep those to a minimum, but do have 3 or so I plan to read by year's end.

I am currently on a paranormal/contemporary romance kick. I do have a few mystery/suspense books thrown into the mix. So, you can see that my travel plans are simple - keep reading.

Until next time!

Okay, I feel as if I have been neglecting you lately. I have still been traveling through reading. Though most of the stories I have been reading have taken place right here in North Carolina. I did visit Boston for a time but then returned to the South - Atlanta lastly.

With everything going on in the world today, reading is definitely an escape! I just thing sometimes, you need to get out of your head, the stresses of the day and enjoy some quiet time.

With that in mind, I need to figure out where I will visit next.

Later!

OK! So it has been a few days since my last post. I was getting into the Valentine's Day spirit by reading a bunch of Romance novels. Well, there is something to be said about fantasy. Though I am not sure what that is, as my motto has always been "Love sucks when your not in it"...LOL!

Anywho, if there was more love in the world we might not be in the predicament in which we currently find ourselves. I think Rodney King said it best, "can't we just all get along!".

I challenge you to make an effort - pass the love forward, just a smile or a hi to a stranger. Music may make the world go round but let's try love today!

Until next time, I'll see you!

Valentine's Day

Since it is Valentine's Day, you would expect for me to read a romance. Up to this point today, I have not read a romance. I read a book about witches. Check out the book review page.

I will admit that I probably will read a romance later tonight. That is after I go to dance class and get my work out on.

I'll let you know where I am traveling to later.

Tootles & have a Happy Valentine's Day!

I set a goal to read 100 books this year. I am starting to feel a little deflated as I have already reached 51 books since January 1st. I know what your thinking and yes, I did increase my goal to 110 books.

59 books left for the remainder of the year. Will I be able to complete the task? I say yes!

Until later, my next adventure since leaving Maine and heading ofter to Moon (Deceived)!
Last night I took a short break from reading to watch the Grammy awards. Boy how things have changed over the years. How many award categories did they show? 5 or 6. Clearly, it is all about the performances.

I have to admit my favorite performance was from Bruno Mars, I just think he is adorable. I loved the impromptu performance by The Civil Wars too. Bonnie Raitt & Alicia Keyes and Adele were among my favorites.

Music makes the world go 'round!

Until later, see you in Maine with Crescendo!

So this morning, I ventured to the gym for a work out and decided to bring my kindle and return to 1984. I realize that that is probably not such a good idea if I want to get in an effective workout. I mean besides walking on the treadmill with kindle in hand, ipod playing my favorite 'old school' songs and watching Fox News, I am not in the least present.

I will from now on make sure I am present to get a good workout. Of course, I will continue to listen to my favorite tunes but I will no longer drift to a different place through reading at the gym.

Now that I put my plan in place, I do need to get back to the past.

Until later, see you in 1984.

I never thought I would start a blog about anything but as the saying goes, 'never say never'!
I bet your asking, why MIND READING? Well, let me explain!

Last year I fell ill. During my recovery, I found it beneficial not to over exert myself with things like walking, jumping or dancing.   : (

To keep my brain moving and my mind fresh, I started reading, as this past time was much cheaper than my previous mind games (LEGO sets). I quickly became addicted to reading especially since my pal Ashley re-introduced me to GOODREADS, (I love that website!).

So here I am starting a blog! You guessed it, I will talk about BOOKS, BOOKS and more BOOKS. This will also include books turned into movies as well.  I've found that books are the cheapest form of travel there is and I LOVE to travel.

Currently, I am in London of Oceania in 1984!

Until I return - keep reading!
