Book Review

I love Goodreads because there are always monthly challenges to participate in as a member of any particular group. One of the groups has a challenge to read 5 books in relation to certain paranormal creatures. In this case I am going to talk about Elves.

That is correct, I said Elves. I read two short stories in which elves were the main characters. The first was The Elf Vampire. This was touted as a YA story. I read part 1 of the trilogy.

There are 4 Elf kingdoms. In the kingdom of Ninaly (located in Russia), there is a princess Vellandra, that decides to become a half-elf, half-vampire to defend her country from here enemies ( 2 other elf kingdoms) after her parents are killed by the evil elves. Of course, she falls in love with the half-human, half-elf Areek of the neighboring friendly elf kingdom. Shall I go on? This was ridiculous!

The second elf book - The Elves and I - was only bearable because of its explicit nature. That is not saying much. This story finds a woman, Marni, in court after having been arrested for a DUI. The judge forces her community service in 'Christmas Town'. Little does she realize that Christmas Town is composed of true Elves, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Marni has to learn compassion and love and to drop all her baggage to become an elf and fall in love with not 1 but 3 elves! WHAT?????

Yes, but all for my Goodreads Challenge!
